Then I mated the Pi to the sprinkler controller board, and the wireless did not work (no ip address shown at bootup). The networking and web server worked fine. Prior to assembling with the board, I updated all the Pi software (apt-get update, etc) and installed the software that goes with the sprinkler board. The Pi 1A+ gets its power from that board. I had the wireless working, and then I assembled it with a sprinkler controller board ( ), at which point the wireless does not work. If necessary, if you post the output from command uname -a I can provide the exact commands you need to execute to download and install the Pi 1 A+ wifi driver. Just tried it myself to check it works and it does. You should then find when you put it in the Pi 1 A+ it should work. install.sh which will install the driver for the Pi 1 A+. Then untar the driver file and run command. You can install the driver for the Pi 1 A+ by putting the SD card back in the Pi 3 and then download the 8188eu.+ driver matching the info from command uname -a minus the -v7 in the filename from my web site. On the Pi 1 A+ it needs the driver 8188eu.+, note no -v7 in the filename. If you installed the 8188eu wifi driver using my install-wifi script on the Pi 3 it would install the driver version 8188eu.-v7+, with -v7+ in the filename.
The Pi 3 about a year ago and the Pi 1 A+ last month. I read in another thread that interchanging cards should work. The device never shows up on my "connected devices" list on the router, and unlike when booting on the Pi 3, the ip address is not shown in the bootup messages. Then I transferred the card to the Pi 1 A+ and boot, and. I can ssh using the device name or the ip address.
The bootup messages display the ip address. In order to get all the ssh and wireless configured, I used my Pi 3.īuster lite is installed on the SD card, and everything (remote ssh login and wireless) works as expected on the Pi 3. The particular challenge I'm having is that the Pi 1 has only one USB port, so either the wireless adapter or the keyboard is possible but both. I have a Pi 1 A+ that I want to use as a headless device, therefore I need to access and control it via ssh.
I've been able to follow tips on this wonderful forum to install the TL-WN725N working (at least in one use case). I hope it's not bad form to wake an old thread, but the topic is so relevant it seems sensible.
